Morning Fog at Whitley Bay Beach
I took advantage of the Winter weather to paint a portrait of Whitley Bay Beach enveloped in a soft morning fog, using my portable easel.
Lots of muted tones and visible brushstrokes play with the diffused light and tame sea to add interest and I think the painting is quiet and intimate.
In the foreground, a young family play in the surf and their presence provides the warm counterpoint to the season’s chill, I think exploring the edge of your world as a toddler is an almost universal experience.
