Penshaw Monument I
Fresh back from exhibition at the People’s Theatre Newcastle as part of the North of England Art Club’s Annual show.
This plein air painting of the National Trust’s Penshaw Monument captures the iconic landmark perched proudly on its hilltop in Tyne & Wear. I loved watching the family hikers travel up and down like an ancient Greek ant colony while on site painting.
This painting celebrates the natural beauty and heritage of our local treasure, perfect for those who hold fond memories of time spent at Penshaw Monument.
Will hang very well in your hallway, office, bedroom or living room.
Original Oil Painting on board, 11×14″, painted on location (plein air), Varnished for protection, Fully lightfast, Fully archival, the work should outlive me.
Currently framed in a chunky white handmade frame but can be reframed on request.
Did you know? Penshaw Monument is a half-size replica of the Temple of Hephaestus in Athens, it’s a striking piece of classical architecture in the heart of the North East and I always love to see it when travelling up from further south as it’s a marker of nearly being home.
